Many people are compelled to follow Jesus Christ when they hear about Him. Here is a more complete presentation of the Good News about Jesus!
GOOD NEWS:
What Jesus Did For Us
He was despised & rejected by men, a man of suffering – acquainted with grief… Yet he bore our sicknesses, and he carried our pains; … He was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our iniquities; His punishment was for our peace, and by his wounds we are healed. We all went astray like sheep; we all have turned to our own way; and the Lord has punished him for the iniquity of us all.
Isaiah 53:3-6 (excerpt)
The actual accounts of Jesus’ passion is found in Matthew 26:47 - 27:66; Mark 14:43-15:47; Luke 23:47-23:56; John 18:1 - 19:42. Read through these to understand more deeply what Jesus did for us.
When we understand what Jesus willingly went through for us — it has a deep impact on our soul. Because we inherently know the Bad News and realize God has provided an answer for us can be overwhelming.
BAD NEWS:
Our Position Before God
We all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; we are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
Romans 3:23-24
We have lied, taken the Lord’s name in vain, disrespected our parents, coveted people’s things, stolen something, lusted in our hearts to name a few ways that we miss the target of God’s will for our lives. But God has implemented a plan to cure us - through Jesus Christ!
Jesus’ Desire For You:
Turn to Him – Believe In Him!
“Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30
So when you recognize your need for Jesus, your need for forgiveness, your need to be made right with God, you need to change your mind (repent) about what you think about Jesus. Whatever you thought about Him before… you now need to wholeheartedly embrace Him and do the following:
If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved [from eternal death].
Romans 10:9
It is in knowing who Jesus is and in believing in what He did by the power of God (resurrected from the dead), that we make a heartfelt, life-changing commitment to Him. Confess with your lips that you believe in Jesus! “I believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God!”
Confess Who He Is!
“ … who do you say that I am?” Peter confessed, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
Matthew 16:15-16
This is your first moment in making a commitment to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior! And now you need to follow up and do what Jesus instructed people to do when they decide to follow Him. Be baptized into His name! And then learn what His will is and learn to walk in His ways.
Jesus told us to baptize people in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit!
We are ready here at Northview Christian Church to baptize you into Jesus Christ! You don’t have to wait to stop some habits, Jesus wants to help you. Your repentance and belief in Jesus and confessing His name qualifies you to be baptized as soon as possible.

Jesus’ Commission
“All authority has been given to me … Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you.
Matt 28:18-20
The Disciples Obeyed
When they heard that Jesus is the Messiah, whom they crucified, they were pierced to the heart and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?”
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit…
… About 3000 accepted his message were baptized that day!
